Reports says Pfizer will cut about 1,200 jobs while Merck will eliminate 500 positions

NEW YORK - Fresh off major acquisitions of rivals, drugmakers Pfizer Inc. and Merck&Co. are each planning to eliminate hundreds of jobs.

Town Halls (last thursday and friday) confirmed the recent rumors: BioRad France will layoff some of its 1134 employees. Rumor has it that it could be close to 10%...

Wasn't Pfizer the marketing partner with Searle for Bextra? Then Searle merged with Pharmacia and finally was taken over by Pfizer. The jist of this is Pfizer representatives were selling Bextra from the beginning.
