Well it has finally happened. It looks like the Abbott buyout will be going down sometime in the second quarter of 2010. The rumor is that 40% of the force will be let go and the remaining population will be moved to the Abbott division in Alameda, CA . Biosearch Technologies, sued last September by Life Technologies and its Applied Biosystems business for allegedly infringing five patents related to PCR probes, last week denied the charges and said the patents are invalid.
