I am reading that a PhD needs to be from a top school or major lab; otherwise it can be a problem. Is this true? Isn't a PhD a PhD? And if it IS true, are there any schools in particular that a prospective grad student should avoid like the plague?

WTF is going on with Operon? Why can't we get primers in less than a week and why does it take almost a month to get our modifieds? We call and all they say is they working as fast to get orders out as possible. We've used them for four years and this past six months have been awful.
