The Liverpool NIHR Pancreas Biomedical Research Unit (Liverpool PBRU) is to host its first Pancreatitis Research Industry Forum entitled Pancreatitis: Product Development Opportunities.
This event is to be held on the University of Liverpool’s campus.

The latest pancreas research and the clinical resources of the PBRU that will be presented during the day. This unique event will provide opportunities for ‘breakout sessions’ that will enable delegates to interact with key experts from the Liverpool PBRU on a one-to-one basis, and tours of the state-of-the-art facilities within the Liverpool PBRU.

The aim of this event is to provide industry delegates with an opportunity to understand how the expertise and facilities at the Liverpool PBRU supports research and development of products focused towards pancreatitis. It will also be an excellent opportunity to forge new mutually beneficial collaborations. This internationally recognised centre of excellence in pancreas research can provide support from discovery phase right though to late-stage clinical trials, and is underpinned by exceptional capability in pancreas biology, drug safety, genomics, proteomics, pharmacogenomics, imaging and medicinal chemistry.

The Liverpool PBRU provides a simple interface for industry to access a significant partnership of stakeholders that includes the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Liverpool and it is dedicated to translation research of pancreatic digestive diseases: pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer - Liverpool PBRU is the leading UK centre of excellence for pancreas research and rated in the top two European pancreas research centres.

The main research themes of the Liverpool PBRU are:

• Drug discovery and development of new interventions
• Application of new diagnostic and imaging strategies
• Validation of new biomarkers and screening protocols
