My answer to the question? Who cares. Maybe they will buy 10 more companies in 2009 so they can screw those up too and open up more markets for small comapnies to fill. LIFE sucks and then hopefully they'll die. Stock price in the 20's coming.....

8 or 24 cap capillary electrophoresis, new consumables format, new software, faster run times, easier to use. Marketed to all CE customer segments, Dx instrument option for Europe, 3130 series discontinued end of year

Apparently there is some drama in Austin. Rosetta Genomics received a bad batch of material from LIFE's predecessor and they are not very happy about it. It all traces back to the consistent fabrication of data by a supervisor there. We understand that this person is leaving to infest another local company.

The 40 layoffs posted for July were in addition to 75 in January. This isn't old news, it's new news, and it's not over.
Also, I believe that the Pleasanton site is too small to fall under CWARN, so it needn't be filed by Life Tech, and wouldn't be listed on the web site. Thus - no definitive data on Pleasanton.

If you are involved in producing a consumable product for LIFE in CA, TX or Warrington U.K. consider yourself gone. Do not buy a new house, car or send your kids to private school.
While its not impossible that you are telling the truth I find it difficult to believe. FC has been told that most of it's production will be moved out but why would Austin & Pleasanton be threatened? Both produce products that would take major effort to relocate.
Not sure how much Warrington does but I do know they produce all of the HID Kits and the allelic ladder - moving those elsewhere would require major investment and effort.

The people at Ambion are a hard working group and produce great products. There are some small issues, like everywhere else, but nothing that should take away from the great work that comes out of there each day.
True - but what does that have to do with anything?

You need to just get the f**k over whatever injustice you *think* happened to you in your time at Ambion. Posting up comments all the time rehashing your baseless accusations are just making you look more ridiculous each time. The people at Ambion are a hard working group and produce great products. There are some small issues, like everywhere else, but nothing that should take away from the great work that comes out of there each day.

Your comments are on the dot. FC is full of these people. NMR queen, SB who sleeps in every meeting, SM the so called poymer guru and the list goes on and on........
Most business decisions are based more on politics and have very little to do with logical or cost effective.
Cost prohibitive? Only seems to happen in layoffs ie. decide who is "expensive" or "complaining" to layoff and then decide what poor souls they need to layoff at lower pays to keep the appearance of "non-discrimantory". That is why very productive people get laid off and some incompetents at that level get kept. If you compare the productivity of who is laid off at each experince level the more expensive or political ones go - despite the level of productivity.
