I am getting the feeling that this forum is just 2 or 3 people in Frederick who are really, really pissed off. Rightly so if the things being said are true, however, there is not much incentive anymore to come look at it. I am truly sorry that anyone has to go through what those in Frederick have gone through from looking through these posts. I hope that things get better for you.
I think they got in some hot water over the mandatory 12 hour days because all of a sudden one day MM did away with them now it's just voluntary 12 hrs. Now see, there's one good thing he done for his dept.LOL
MM did nt get rid of mandatory 12 hours, read the law, you can not make employees work a mandatory 12 hour shift over and over. He simply followed the rules, not hard to do by the way. It is still a lost cause in Frederick, too many shot callers with limited experience in the field.

They do offer benefits but personally I dont think they are very good. The contract through the temp agency runs for 10 months then if you dont get hired on as a permenant employee by Life Tech you are layed off and new temps are hired to replace those whose contracts run out. Thats the reason for the whole lay off/hiring.
What does it mean with no benefits?, and why layoffs but are hiring? Makes no sense.
I wouldnt recommend Life Tech for employment to my worst enemy let alone an anonymous poster here. Hold out for something better and save yourself from an ulcer.
Most of the positions are filled through a temp agency, though some people are hired "off the street" like you I presume. Turn over is extremely high there so I'd suggest even if you do get a job with us I would keep looking for something better.

Well said, and I would agree with you in most other situations, but in life you get in return what you dish out. Those that run this company have been shitting on the employees (me included) for years. And like alot of other companies I've heard about they use the guise of a bad economy to further dump on us. The revolving door of temps and contractors is bad for morale. They fire people for the stupidest of reasons more likely to cut their bottom line. If there is a Hell most of these managers/supervisors/directors are headed there as well as some of the employees who backstab and connive to further their own miserable "careers".
I like to come here to hear the latest info on the company. This site is devolving into constant slurs and obscenities. I feel like I am standing around in an elementary school yard listening to a bunch of bullies. If you are calling people names and slandering people you are being a bully. What you are doing is not ok, it is not funny and you are not helping the situation. You may feel helpless, we all do, but you would be better off finding something positive to do for yourself, your family or community, rather than to spend your time here degrading others. I have friends that complain about conditions and equipment at their workplace and I tell them maybe it is a choice between better conditions and layoffs. This company has to make the numbers just like every other company. Try to think of a way to improve the situation and if you can't, thank God that you have a job. There is a little thing in your brain called the amygdala and it registers everything you do, however it can not distinguish between what you do to others and what is done to you. Everything you do to emotionally injure someone else is registered just as if it was done to you. So you see there is a physical correlate to the golden rule. Bullies end up with just as many anxiety disorders as those who have been bullied. The only immediate relief is to try to bully even more but that just leads to more anxiety. If you want out of the loop, try doing something kind for someone else. Love your neighbor as yourself, you will end up enjoying life a LOT more.

Broken instruments can't be replaced. Service techs are constantly coming up with inventive ways to fix instruments. Money is better spent buying yellow tape to section off a spot for my stapler. Never had any issues with the maintainence dept. I guess if they call MM "lower than scum" they have good reason. Maintenence dept. has a budget like every other dept. and if the powers that be dont provide them with enough money to work with how will shit get fixed?
