It's very suspect because there is a milestone payment due. Yet, if milestones are not reached, PR falls short of all their crazy claims 7 months ahead of reality. So everything that is said must be suspect and no one really knows how milestones are reached. Shareholders really need to look at this one. It's a whopper.

The last interview I saw with product manager this week is that they are routinely getting 400bp now, they promised 200bp by year end and they delivered 100 bp if that.

So what is it ? The R & D lab keeps doing better but the customers can't do crap. Start from the start please... Long reads are really going to be a killer app, stop talking about chip size, molecular diag labs don't give a crap about exomes or RNA seq.

Somewhere, floating around LIFE, there must be a FASTQ file generated on an IT machine that you are especially proud of. Why don't you make it available to the public, your potential customers? Upload it to the next-gen repository at GenBank, or just have it available on www.life.com. There are plenty of us out here that are interested.

No, machines placed in Dec '10 and Jan '11. This was the data from commercial machine, not beta. PGM has some development time to be useful. Even if that run was only $500, it still took days to set up. The enrichment step also needs a lot of work.

That is beyond awful. 4.7 Mb of Q20 data for $1000? My last run on an Illumina machine was about $8 for that amount of data at Q35. With a longer mean read length. And close to 95% mappable.
