And to all those High level LIFE executives that lied on this board about layoffs while back stabbing and taking NO resposibility for their own jobs, let hell be cast upon you and yours! Enjoy the wrath to come!

Any people that is laid off next week would be out of the 2 year severance package, and thus getting worse benefits. Well, that is for legacy AB - for legacy IVG not sure. I think those poor people got even less benefits.

There were layoffs on the East Coast as well...!! It's nice to know that after working hard and being a good employee that all you get is 15-20min. to clear out your desk and be escorted out like a prisoner...ah yes I guess that is what LIFE is all about!!

Admired by whom?
In a poll of San Diego's money hungry, self centered, unjustified salary CEOs, GL came in as the most admired money hungry, self centered, unjustified salary CEO.

Layoffs definitely yes. About 100 people at FC ranging from mid level to the highest ranks on individual contributors in R&D. The "old baggage" from AB, people that stayed with the company for long time, invented everything that made the company profitable, had the experience and contacts, and now where in higher levels taking the salary of two younger, more energetic, and gullible people. Somebody had to pay for the exaggerated price of ion. The incredible thing is that some execs that made the wrong decisions on failed programs conveniently jumped ahead of time and they kept their stock. No accountability for real failure. At least these people got their severance before the 2nd year ends. Next round wont be so lucky. I guess its Life as usual...

You folks need to adopt the self love regimen:
Life Technologies' CEO Greg Lucier named "Most Admired CEO of a publicly traded company" by The San Diego Business Journal. Thanks SDBJ!
The shit you read out there...
You know, when this kind of crap comes out and you hear during meetings about having a good corporate image and being fair to employees, you just have to ask yourself: are you kidding me ? This is the kind of propaganda Stalin would use... Why don't start by just being an honest money hungry, self centered, unjustified salary CEO that you're supposed to be; at least my intelligent won't be insulted. I would admire you for that.

Funny to see lackeys defending the indefensible. They don't see metal detectors at the doorway so they deny that layoffs are looming. Well the bill for Ion Torrent, along with all the other ineffectual M&A, is in the mail and someone - other than GL of course - is going to be paying for it. And as people have said, Nov 21 is days away.
As for the pattern of buying companies, destroying, dimantling and disposing of them, there is a term for that - antitrust violation. And another - racketeering. Be funny to see the ivgn brain trust in jail but GL would probably end up being condemned to house arrest and get to spend his days relaxing in his mansion in Rancho Santa Fe or San Clemente or wherever he hangs his hat. Wouldn't compensate in justice for ruining the life of a single dishwasher or shipping clerk in the name of "synergy."

They are big, but the lack of motivation will kill them on the long term. Or are you able to buy a sufficient numbers of companies every years, and just let them blow up once their quality and development is gone. In that case the end of the company life cycle is being bought by Life, or should they be renamed end-of-life technologies when it does not matter anymore.

2 year anniversary right around the corner. Anyone giving odds on whether GL will wait and try to save the sevarance money at the risk that the fraud lawsuits will pay out less? In hindsight it always seems GL made the most expensive, least effectual choice.

Yeah, I'd be careful what you take to work on Monday.
