now there is less reps and more managers and even more ISO managers

If it was that simple, the answer two the two questions would be:
Are they that perfect? --No, no company is perfect.
Are they irrelevant? --No, a company the size of Bio-Rad is not irrelevant and little risk of becoming so in the next 5 years at least. Love them or hate them, people know them by the green gel boxes...that identity alone will keep them relevant so long as people are running protein gels. Ask any of their competitors and I guarantee you that they train their sales teams to sell against the green boxes.

Speak to anyone not just operations people. There is a pervasive malaise in LSG. In less than five years they will cease to exist.

just going back to a previous post. The bottom line might still look fine but top line has flat lined for years-particularly in europe.
They look to focus on product areas which they highlighted over 4 years ago which continue to struggle to grow.
The company suffers from a lack of flair and imagination which limits its ability to grow in what is an ever changing market.

Whatever happened to that clueless micromanager JS anyway? Has he found some other company to ruin? I pity the working for him.

We have a biorad analyser in our lab which has never worked as promised nearly a year now. Despite promises of software updates and engineer training they have never succeeded in getting it to function. Thankfully we have never paid a penny for it or else it would have been replaced months ago.
Do you still have to ask why people criticise them. The fact you are asking instantly suggests that you have never had any dealings with them.

Bio-rad are known here and in Europe and the far east for poor quality and service. If you don't believe me just look on google.

You clearly have never been buying anything from Biorad or you would know why everyone has it in for them.

Mostly -yes. Some good people, but more politics and whinning than any real strategy, innovation or good science on the LSG side of the business.

I don't think Ortho would seriously consider buying Diamed. Biorad are dumping the IH1000 on price all across Europe in desparation because they can't win accounts on technical merit. They are tying themselves into long term deals at next to no margin on consumables. Why would Ortho want a part of that?

It's official, all LSG products are now in decline. No positive growth (unless you factor in currency) in any area.
It's payback for the managers that got where they are by stepping on other people.

I ask the same question. CC of Corp-HR controls the hiring of all the Divisions. So, I'm not sure why there is LSG-HR and CDG-HR when they all have to vow to what CC dictates anyway. CC should not be in HR afterall. Unapproachable, croonies of the Sch...She does NOTHING to protect the employees.

It's not only LSG due to poor management and product quality there is BIG changes happening in CDG worldwide.
