I was let go this year too. Very slow sales as all my sales were to research, NIH and academic accounts. Now that I am on the outside looking in, idt is a sinking ship, and I am glad I was let go.

idt was almost purchased by ABI before the invitrogen purchase of ABI and merger into life technologies.

now I hear that idt is back up for sale, this time the likely buyer is GE healthcare.

zen probes don't work past fam fluorescence. the market found out the hard way after we at idt misrepresented the product. internally quenched tamra probes worked better than doubly quenched zen probes greater than 70% of the time. When we were shown this data at idt, we dismissed the science in favor of our own misrepesentations. i am no longer there, but those who are, still have their heads in the sand.

Q4 sales are down again this year. Donations to JCCAs also down. During these years our lawyers (Brothers "T") usually hide royalties due LIFE to break even.

Run away from idt...we did. They are confused, with no mission except to hurt other companies while promoting themselves. They pass bad karma which will destroy them.

Yeah, I was laid off too. They keep the over paid lawyers and copy cat R & D staff, but drop us dedicated sales reps.

Idt is great at sequencing oligos, where quality means nothing, could be 50% pure and you still get a pcr product. Cheap, dirty, idt and illumina. Getting a mass spec trace means nothing when base lines can be adjusted to yeild just about anything.

For years and continuing to today, idt and abi have a deal where idt gets amidites from abi at a discount and in exchange abi, now life, buys oligos from idt. So yes, there is a "special discount" from idt to life for oligos.

From LIFE? Next day oligos: 10% higher price, 20 base shorter max length, higher shipping charges, orders due 5 hours before IDT, oligos arrive 8 hrs after IDT? I'm on the hand delivery route that includes LIFE's corporate headquarters and even they order oligos from IDT. For next day oligos, LIFE doesn't even synthesize their own, GL has his arch-nemesis Flatley do them at Illumina.

Yea, private companies don't have to press their layoffs, but they should. IDT has been falling for the past couple years. Doesn't surprise anyone who used to buy from IDT and now buy oligos from Eurofins or LIFE. Mass crap oligo production. You get what you pay for.
