Asterand

what a disaster... and illustrates the danger of over-paying for an acquisition. CEO/FD both fallen on their sword. Debt is now double market cap and has been called in by their creditors. Can anyone see hope for this little business?

Utter waste (Pharmagene, not

Utter waste (Pharmagene, not AST)

OK, accounts are out and this

OK, accounts are out and this company is now dead. I see the CEO took out more than $600000 even though he resigned in July. Shameful. If you are a shareholder you will lose your entire investment.

Tell me about it. Sitting on

Tell me about it. Sitting on my shares for the long term (?) I have to believe that human tissue testing is the way forward and this is the only real player in that market.

is someone going to buy it

is someone going to buy it though? there's been no sign of it and deadlines have passed. Meantime there prelim annuall results announcement is due and nothing filed. Ooops.

As a founder of Pharmagene

As a founder of Pharmagene (merged with Asterand) I find it distressing to see such a good business idea driven to the brink by clueless executives. The core business is based on a sound principle - we develop drugs for humans so test drug candidates on human tissue. However, the financial burden imposed by overpaid executives in it for a quick buck was too great. ATD has never made a profit so how can a CEO justify a £300 K salary plus benefits ? I will be glad to see the business sold so that the current Board and senior management can be asked to pursue other interests.

your right... it drives me

your right... it drives me mad when people run a plc like their own prvate business. OK, you want to show off and punch above your weight... but it needs balance. ATD were never the big company they pretended to be, but they might have got bigger. Now it just looks like poo.

Great business that has been

Great business that has been bled by a succession of leeches at the top.
At least they no longer have to pay for MC's 'business trips'

The few people responsible

The few people responsible are mostly gone now. The basic business model is a solid one and is starting to take off again. They just need someone in charge who is honest and knows the business they are in.

small handful of people

small handful of people responsible for its failure, complete waste.
