GMO Food sold at the biotech cafe.

I've worked at several biotechs over the years all focused on genetic analysis or leveraging it heavily.

All of them with any sort of cafeteria sold high end organic fruit juices such as Odwalla or similar brands. All of the bottles had phrases written on them such as, "proudly does not contain ingredients produced by biotechnology" etc.

The irony strikes me and I'm curious what my peers in industry think about this.

I agree that nobody cares.

I agree that nobody cares. This is especially notable in the State of California as its voters did not pass Proposition 37 in 2012:

"Requires labeling of food sold to consumers made from plants or animals with genetic material changed in specified ways. Prohibits marketing such food, or other processed food, as "natural."

Companies don't give 2 shits

Companies don't give 2 shits what is sold in their cafeterias - they sell the contract to 3rd party vendors who then do their best to figure out what people will shovel in their faces. Stuff that doesn't have to be cooked and appears to be healthy usually works.
