Why should the sales rep complain?` They didn't make their number so why should they get rewarded? Management maintained margins in a tough environment w/o sales achieving their goals, so why shouldn't management be rewarded.

TM and lawyers "t" have 6 months to prove themselves
They arent going anywhere, that would require action that JW is incapable of performing with the information he is filter-fed from the cabal with fat paychecks and useless opinions.
It will only take one suit being prosecuted to 3 times damages to clear up the dodgy IP practices.

Most of us sales reps have one eye on a new job and the other on our declining benefits. TM and lawyers "t" have us cheating our customers while pressuting them for more business. We cheat the CDC with H1N1 royalties and GE/Life/Biosearch with label rights and royalties. Rumores are that TM and lawyers "t" have 6 months to prove themselves.

Oligos as a commodity are a myth
Value differentiation on a commodity is a myth. Your IP value is what? Your oligo is chemically different because you put proprietary groups on it? No, its chemically equal. Its then a commodity. All oligo suppliers provide a commodity, competition is on the price versus purity or yield axes.

a certain fast food franchise company is going to be paying them royalties or else!
IDT will franchise their system to distribute manufacturing to a global organization of turnkey fast oligo synthesis kitchens under the trade name Distributed DNA Technologies (DDT). Franchisees can purchase raw materials from a central hub and send waste materials down the local drains at the low oversight spoke points. There will be an optional 24 hour drive-through available to franchises in more demanding high traffic locations like India and China. IDT will grow by spreading DDT worldwide!

Specify 1 nanomole of a 99.8% pure T7 primer or any sequence and every supplier will deliver that for a price. No chemical difference. Interchangable. A commodity.
Commodities have standards, even if the oligo futures market is too small to work.

"iDT is settling its lawsuit against Apple for the trademark "i" infringement of the iPod, iPhone and iPad. Apple will provide $2M annual as a licensing fee, and in return iDT will allow Apple to name anything it wants with a vowel."
No! No! No! As usual these rumors are totally off the mark. Another example of only 0.001% of anything you read here having any truth beyond people’s fantasies and wishful thinking. The REAL story is that IDT does not have time to take Apple to court yet, since they have the IP on the word “mac” and a certain fast food franchise company is going to be paying them royalties or else! Of course, just like IDT, 100% of Macdonald's products will have to be ESI QC checked if they wish to continue selling under the IDT name, unlike the 30% or so spot checks that Burger King and friends proudly advertise. No more Junk Fries for me! You want some oligos with that? We now proudly return to the other 99.999%.
