More fake Chinese peptide companies

When will it end? They obviously are hanging up as many shingles as possible making it seem like they are all different companies. Neo-peptide and Neobioscience are all the same. They occupy but an office on the 18th floor of the Riverview Bldg in Cambridge, MA. Who is actually on the lease for the 18th floor? Regus Executive Offices and their many clients who share the facilities. Any labs there? Not a chance. Same thing for Synthetic Biomolecules of San Diego - who is in their building with them? A bridal shop, lawn and garden company, and others - any large make up air/HVAC systems on their roof - not a chance. How about EZ Biolab in Indiana? Who do they share a building with? How about Cisco Photo‎, Creative Thinking‎, DJ Interiors Inc‎, Industrial Roofing‎. Makeovers‎, Market Chek Inc‎, MCT Electric Inc‎, Mission To Ukraine, RJ Financial Solutions, Rejuvenating Touch Massage‎, Shaw Strategic Marketing. No labs there either.

Do your homework. Don't be burned. Quality companies do not have fake websites, import crap from China, hide behind pretty pictures and have pricing that can only be achieved throught he use of substandard building blocks and cutting corners. If this does not end the ability of the US and Europe to be at the leading edge of bioscience will end sooner than you think. When they control the supply line for reagents they will know what you are working on, where your research is headed and eventually the "patent and copyright ignoring" Chinese government and industrial complex will own it all. Tell your beancounters and outsourcing managers to take a step back and think about the long term consequences not just the pennies they will save on the materials they outsource. When the research stops working, or extra controls have to be employed, or there are delays that cannot be explained, the small amount of money you have saved upfront will be a bigger loss on the back end.

But they also have a Shanghai

But they also have a Shanghai plant - do not confuse cGMP work with research grade peptides...

Are you kidding? I have

Are you kidding? I have visited American Peptide in San Diego, and I have friends who work there. They have their strengths and weaknesses, but it's definitely a real company. Japanese owned, I think

Now you must be desperate - I

Now you must be desperate - I work at a LARGE Cambridge Biotech and I have visited 21st Century Bio and have watched my peptides being made and purified. We did a complete DD and they make their peptides in a very nice facility outside of Boston. About 30 employees and a great space (I wish we had that kind of space in Kendall Sq). Nothing Chinese there. And quality and price that was only slightly higher than the crap we used to get from Chinese-based firms. Frankly, it is nice to be able to speak with scientists who have ben in the business for many years and who can come here, give a seminar, and know what they are talking about. I also met several PhDs there all of whom have come from the Boston area academic institutions. So in reality you can do it in the USA and offer quality products at a reasonable price.

It is from China

It is from China

All peptide companies import

All peptide companies import from China, including many big names

Why not try Elim

Why not try Elim Biopharmaceuticals Inc.? They make all peptide in US and even provide overnight synthesis and delivery of crude peptide! Super! www.elimbio.com

As I know, Elim

As I know, Elim Biopharmaceuticals, Inc makes high quality peptide with low price at USA site 100%! Their turn around time is fast. They even provide overnight peptide synthesis for crude peptide (obviously it is not made in China). For San Francisco bay area customer, they provide free shipping. I work at UCSF and order a lot of peptides from Elim. I am pretty satisfied with their service.

Makes perfect sense, the

Makes perfect sense, the execs get big bonuses for getting a phase I clinical candidate, why waste time, and for that matter, risk failure, by trying to find something that actually works. The whole industry has operated on this premise for a long time now, but the gig is up, the VC's are wise, and the fallout you see now is the result.

stay clear of Shangzen Orion

stay clear of Shangzen Orion Chemicals, a chinese based outfit
that sent basically inactive compound to some silly cow manager where I used to work.
She Ordered a D2 inhibitor and the stupid cow, ran an internal proof of concept study on it, without even checking the material. Which came in a freaking baggie in a padded evelope with no C of A or MSDS.
The study did not yield any useable results.
The mass spec guy they had checked the white powder in the baggie, it was shit, some scrapings off of the floor. It all got quietly swept under the carpet, because she was senior management.

Latterly one of her pet projects got all the way to phase I clinical trial, with to my knowledge no proof or concept.

Any how there were mass redundancies at that company and she got kept on.

Any how the company was chinese and I can't find their website.
Which might have been fake anyhow.

China peptides are succeeding

China peptides are succeeding right now because of their cheap prices. Researchers are looking at cutting corners even if it means getting low quality peptides. However, they need to question the results they get both positive and negative ones.

There are several good peptide manufactures in the US and Europe, produce high quality peptides for a few dollars more per residue.

Chinese people work hard to

Chinese people work hard to make the peptide, that is why they succeed.

pretty much any and all

pretty much any and all synthetic chemistry, including peptide chemistry will never be done in the US, ever again. So much for 5 years in grad school as a slave making compounds. There's a surge in some biologics right now, but that will wane as well after patent expirations finish off the pharmaceutical industry.

American Peptide opened a

American Peptide opened a Shanghai facility sometime in 2007 I believe. Research grade peptides are made there. cGMP made in CA.

Your kidding right! APC

Your kidding right! APC imports their peptides from China and resells them. Just ask for a site visit.

Go with American Peptide

Go with American Peptide Company! The name says it all.

That page tells you nothing about where the peptides are made. If it did now that would be a true resource. Maybe it should be broken into peptide manufacturers and peptide sellers.

I never have had a problem

I never have had a problem with peptides bought from CPC. Shawn Lee make deal me no refuse.

Not the only biz jumping ship

Not the only biz jumping ship to save costs (with a concomitant drop in quality). 90% of the APIs are now made in China or India - and the FDA does not inspect them with the rigor they do here.

Bravo. I have argued with my

Bravo. I have argued with my purchasing people for years that my research has been hampered by having to buy from the lowest cost supplier. Very variable salt content, T cell assays would work sometimes and would not work sometimes and yet all the peptides have been well characterized for many years. I finally got fed up and bought some peptides with my own money from a US company, went to the section chief and laid out the results. He then called in a senior purchasing person for a staff meeting who signed a sole source justification for us on the spot and I am now getting quality material from a US company that MAKES THEIR PEPTIDES in the USA!!!! The cost differential was only 15% or so and I get good tech support, timely shipping and my results are far more consistent.
