"Now here's the rub: JK (and the other big pharma companies) made a back door deal with Obama to "support" his health care legislation by A) keeping quiet and B) pushing billions into slush funds to be used to promote the plan. In return, they were promised they wouldn't be made the scapegoats in the plan. (The classic deal with the devil...those always work out great, right?)"
So did the insurance companies, see how well that worked for them? Who do you think is next? Watching the AMA and drug industry suck up to that Chicago hack is like watching abused children placating their abuser. Sick, disgusting and useless.
I don't miss working at Pfizer, but I do miss their health insurance plan (although nobody can sign up for the one I had anymore).

Well...some people just cannot be happy with anything!...majority of the folks who post here are just negative/cynical.
You arrogant asshole. Could it possibly be that you are ignorant of their plights. Perhaps if you were in their positions you might be just as "negative/cynical" as they are. We already know you're judgemental.

There were many Health Insurance options as I recall. They were considering lowering the overall number last I heard. Not that it would cost them too much more to have more options. I'm not sure why their were considering giving fewer options.

"The rest of us browse here hoping for real inside info...lately, there just doesn't seem to be any...which means the right kind of folks have been laid off."
Not all of the right people. To that list I would add 1) Pfizer Employees who waste their time here expecting to find "real insider info." and 2) The jackasses in Management that keep their plans so obscure that it forces the weak minded to come here expecting to see "real insider info."
There are still plenty of Job Loss Notices waiting to be served. Maybe they'll get it right in the next wave but I doubt it.

Isn't it obvious why the original poster won't just simply contact Pfizer HR internally? Perhaps because he/she is fishing for information as a mole?
Whoever you are, no one matches Pfizer benefits...it's the best, period. So, if you are legacy Wyeth, enjoy these great benefits and obtain more info from HR...if not, if you have to ask, you can't match it.

Oh, incidentally, Pfizer also has (so far) an incredibly generous extended health plan that covers you after retirement, assuming you stay at Pfizer long enough.
Now here's the rub: JK (and the other big pharma companies) made a back door deal with Obama to "support" his health care legislation by A) keeping quiet and B) pushing billions into slush funds to be used to promote the plan. In return, they were promised they wouldn't be made the scapegoats in the plan. (The classic deal with the devil...those always work out great, right?)
Anyway, the rub is that if the healthcare passes, you'll be paying a LOT more (in taxes and out of pocket) for those gold plated health care benefits, which also won't be as gold plated.
