It's really very simple. The problems would all be solved if people in charge of research groups were rewarded for productivity and fired for failure. They would immediately gather around them the people who they know produce good work. As things stand, productivity is not rewarded and so, they gather around them the people who are good at massaging their egos and presenting b*llsh*t. The problem Pfizer now has is that many of the people who could turn it around are gone.

But others were talented, hard working bench scientists and technicians. We have also lost some decent man-managers and even one or two good leaders. These individuals were not eliminated because of poor productivity or ability. Nor could they be said to be poor contributors or weak team players. In many cases, their only weakness was honesty and a need to speak their mind, but to be frank, im still not sure why these particular people had to go (always assumed it was to Pfizers financial advantage i.e. as part of some great overall financial plan). But regardless, can someone confirm that after all this chaos, this corporate self-destruction which excised the heart and mind from this once great company, after all the tears and stress, that profesionally trained idiots such as JM remain employed? If so, why? can someone please clarify mersons position. I go way back with him from his early days as a Wylie and MacKay suck up through the decision to use him as a replacement for the incompetent tandem-riding Bojangles in Sandwich HTS. Given his medical condition (Juvenile Onset Imbecility) it seems highly unlikley that he would be kept on in any capacity. Must be out the door, surely.
