Last year Pfizer sold Capsugel to KKR for $2.4 Billion dollars in cash.
In April Pfizer sold its baby nutrition unit to Nestle for $11.9 billion dollars.
Pfizer will soon provide details regarding the proposed Pfizer Animal Health unit IPO for the new divested company called Zoetis as part of its 2012 second quarter earnings announcement.
There are not many profit centers left in the parent corporation leaving the profit center revenue coming from prescription drug sales.
While other companies are diversified, Pfizer is putting all of its eggs into one basket.
It looks like the stroke prevention drug Eliquis and the hopeful approval of tofacitinib for rheumatoid arthritis will need to carry the company.

Your article (parts of it) is definitely rather persuasive which is probably the reason why I am making an effort to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, whilst I can notice a leaps in logic you make, I am not necessarily convinced of exactly how you appear to connect your details which inturn help to make your conclusion. For right now I will subscribe to your issue however wish in the foreseeable future you link your facts much better. ダウンジャケット 洗濯 http://downjacketwash.onushi.com/

He was head hunted.
ok, don't know this JT person
ok, don't know this JT person but can i be clear; Pfizer in Sandwich had employed this person, his behaviour appeared to be unstable, he started a fight in a local bar, he started a fight at an airport while on company business, he physically assaulted a girl in public, he threatened to kill someone, he regularly exhibited the irrational behaviour of someone with a borderline psychosis. Yes? Ok, so given this questionable background and dubious mental state, why is he not currently at senior director level in the states?
Yep, J is a "character".
Yep, J is a "character".
Yes but that was before he
Yes but that was before he threatened to kill one of the pub landlords in another drunken rant who then complained to HR. Funnily (or perhaps not) enough, that same landlord was found 6 months later drowned, stuck under one of the boats on the quayside - I kid you not.
You see, trouble just follows him around....
this is getting confusing.
this is getting confusing. When referring to pfizer-related mad scotsmen, can we please all be clear which mad scotsman we are dealing with. Looks as if the place is over-run with them.
By the way, in relation to JT, is he the one who punched a girl in a pub in kent?
Ah Yes, the mad 'Ceeltic'
Ah Yes, the mad 'Ceeltic' Scotman. Trouble just seems to follow him around...

I remember this mad scotsman
I remember this mad scotsman fondly - I remember the drunken rant that got him kicked out - I remember the fight he put up (with his lawyer) - praises to this mad as cats scotsman.
the other one - the Rangers supporter - I would like to rub his King Billy face in Rangers demise. I'm not a Scottish footy supporter but I will always cheer the Celtic on.

I think the mad Scotsman I was referring to may not be the mad Scotsman you are referring to.
I was referring to a mad Scotsman who scanned a document, ran to Organon, then to Karolinska and is now propping up various health web pages on the BBC and The Guardian.
What makes him mad? His tendency to start fights in all of the Sandwich pubs at one time or another. And Heathrow Airport.
That is rich! Fire the CEO
That is rich! Fire the CEO over his favorite football team. Considering the corruption in sports worldwide and its continuing support from fans, who could possibly replace him?
if you really want to wind up
if you really want to wind up the mad scotsman i would discuss the soccer team he has supported from his youth. In fact, he is pathologically obsessed by them. For those not in the know here are the basics.
1. The team is based in Glasgow and called The Rangers
2. They have been ultra successfull and dominated their league since they were formed (over a hundred years ago)
3. They have a long history of religious bigotry and for around 40 years refused to sign Catholics for fear of alienating their supporters (It would be interesting to know the experiences of Catholics that have worked for the mad scotsman).
4. The club has just ceased to exist - not big news here but it is in the UK. Turns out that their dominance only resulted from being able to buy and pay big name players by not paying corporation taxes to the UK government. It is now thought that they owe $200m. In effect, they have been cheating for 20 years and getting away with it.
5. They have now been kicked out of their league and liquidated.
No, none of this is directly related to Pfizer. But given that the fans (mad scotsman included) knew about it and continued to support them, doesnt it make you question the mentality, motivations and morality of an individual who thinks that such unethical behaviour is acceptable? Further, why would Pfizer want such an individual retained, especially given his questionable history and the efforts of simon cambell in sandwich to freeze his early career progression.
seriously, you can call him all sorts of names and he wont care. But mention The Rangers and watch him go postal. Worth it for the laugh alone.

The funny thing is the comment I quoted from has been deleted! The poor bugger who claims to have quit Boifnid has once again been filtered.
I would very much like to know how much PFE has paid Boifnid to filter out certain IP addresses. It's almost as if we good folks were forbidden from discussing mad Scotsmen who research high-intensity exercise and email .pdf files to their ex colleagues. Not that I've ever discussed such a thing.

This makes perfect sense. A
This makes perfect sense. A growing area of the business is separated out and allowed to realize its true value, which it can't do weighed down by the huge human health sector.
The only shame is that the obvious science benefits and cross fertilization of having human and animal health research and development in the same company couldn't be achieved.

Last time I looked the share price had been stagnating for the last ten years. If this is "making money" I'd hate to see what losing it looks like.

Now hold on there. Pfizer is a great example of the "Free Market" in action. True it's an amazingly destructive corporation - it buys successful companies, takes away their successes and then boots out all the people. But Americans wouldn't have it any other way. When there's money to be made, anything goes!!!!!
Yes Pfizer the troubled
Yes Pfizer the troubled company should break up now, while it still has something to break up. This company's "new drug model" is not working and hasn't worked for at least 10 year. Unfortunately, the CEO's and the board's greed will not allow them to face the facts. Downward, downward is where this company is going and stasis is not not growth. They just don't seem to understand.....
Absolutely! This pattern has
Absolutely! This pattern has been repeated time and time again. Sell off a bunch of stuff to get some cash, make a ridiculous offer for another company, lay off a few people, wash, rinse repeat.
wrong. they're just preparing
wrong. they're just preparing the war chest in case they're forced to take over of Amgen. If the Amgenites are smart for once and turn down the (rumored)offer for copromotion rights to tofacitinib in exchange for letting PFE keep the compromotion rights to the now much more valuable Enbrel (which would otherwise revert back to Amgen), Pfizer will have no other choice. they can't afford to lose the Enbrel cash cow.
For some totally baffling
For some totally baffling reason, Pfizer always seems to do what Jamie Rubin tells them to do. Diversify!.. They diversify. Unlock value!... They sell everything off. Keep the Wall Street bankers happy. What a rotten world.
Well, I agree with the
Well, I agree with the sentiment of others, what i disagree with is the reasoning. Pfizer is being setup for failure from within on purpose.
Look, we spent so many years acquiring companies and their management. We didn't kick enough of the "acquired" management out, instead we promoted them. Now they are wreaking their revenge while making a profit on it. They want us to fail, we took over their companies and if they can ruin us while make a buck at it, good.
That is what has happened.
