Germany is out of control too. Unproductive manaagment is still there which make the decisions. who else decided who stays or goes? They're not leaving because they made the decisions who is cut. As if they would cut themselves? Most affected do not have decision-making powers and cost the company nothing in comparision to higher up. Be aware, it happens often in business here in Germany too. Don't be surprised when nothing changes for the better.

Lots of postions seem to be cut or offered severance packages. Married couples, people with 10 or more years at the company even pregnant women have been targeted.

They laid off a bunch in June because they shut down the Germantown manufacturing plus the cut the non productive RD personnel. Still keeping the Digene HPV stuff, just moving it to Germantown. No need to do the building expansion that is all part of their US Cost cutting strategy. I would not be the least bit surprised to see the kit manufacturing moved to Germany within the next 2-3 years and the Germantown facility become just a distribution center.
Qiagen Japan is out of control with excessive demands running costs beyond anything reasonable. Where will it end, who know just remember no job is secure.

Be careful. HPV sales outlook is terrible. nothing new. timelines slip and competition looming. This is the big cash cow now and is very threatened.
