With Illumina, Roche will no longer need NimbleGen. They flushed $272 million to buy it and it has not earned a penny to date. Of course the founder made a killing. Illumina is profitable and is the market leader. 454 may also be toast.

What I don't understand is why smilin Jack won't stop the bleeding in RAS? Only one group is profitable and they aren't funded. RAS is a perfect example of surviving despite their best efforts.
