Say Goodbye to Stago

It has been 12 years since Stago has released a front line analyzer in an industry which dictates that research and development produce a replacement every 5 years based on the depreciation rates and consumer buying cycles.

The last front-line system produced by Stago was in the year 2000. Sure, Stago repackaged their Star, called it the evolution and finally upgraded the software to XP and added a couple of USB ports, but it still contains a floppy drive (Really? A floppy drive?)

Most Consumers have waited and are in fact on their 2nd and 3rd buying cycle - But most won't buy again.

So what is Stago's plan?

Introduce the Destiny and Destiny Max. The next generation Stago is not a Stago at all. Its a rehashed re-packaged purchased piece of equipment from Trinity. A product which never flew on its own, yet, Stago is putting all of its eggs in one basket here with this product. In fact, Stago is moving out all of their key dedicated personnel and bringing in the Trinity people who failed miserably in their 1st attempt at releasing this product. Those Stago personnel who are not being run off are seeking employment elsewhere. The writing is on the wall for those with any understanding of the medical devise industry and buying cycles.

But it's not just here in the States where this is happening. Even the french market is turning their backs on the Stago Apathy.

Break out the butter because Stago is toast.

"Sounds like my former

"Sounds like my former service manager from STAGO landed with the company without a plan who screwed up the BC deal and was forced to go direct after being told to take a hike. He's been writing on this blog complaining about working conditions after numerous customers saiid he stunk and he had to go. They didn't want him in their facility because he would not listen and did not help resolve their issues. It's nice to hear he will be working for the competition who has customers waiting days and sometime weeks for service. IL hired the right guy to help build their program. Time to move on....."

What a ridiculous post!

First off, your understanding of what transpired between IL and BCI is rooted in ignorance. The whole breakup was based on the distribution rights in China. Danaher got greedy and werfen told danaher to take a hike. Danaher is suffering greatly in Europe right now because of this deal. You are talking out of your tail-pipe, son.

IL has hired many STAGO and DHR employees here recently but to my knowledge (as a recruiter) IL has not hired a manager from Stago. So once again, you are talking out your tail pipe.

Ive spoken with many people of the past few months and the things I am hearing about the way people are being treated at Stago is very interesting to say the least.

I understand that Stago has circled the wagons again as management has bypassed their dedicated employees and promoted another sycophant into the circle of insecure managers. This being with the Coag Connection dept. The position was never offered - just given to a yes person. Now that's how you shatter morale amongst the ranks. No opportunity for growth. Just sit down and shut up before you get your feelings hurt tactics.

Well I'm glad to see that someone is taking up for the ways of Stago, even though you don't know what the hell you are talking about, thanks for chiming in.

Sounds like my former service

Must be a US thing.

Must be a US thing.

BRAVO STAGO! It took over 3

BRAVO STAGO! It took over 3 weeks for you to get off your butts to do something and the BEST that you can come up with is a pair of movie tickets? The previous post indicated lack of respect on the part of management. Well you just proved it. You spend $100sK for your sales meetings with awards also in the $1K+ range and the best you come up with are movie tickets. They're probably for a Sunday matinee as well. You wanted to boost morale, looks like you just helped deflate it even more.

Talk about a lack of respect for your people. This is only adding insult to injury. Why was the conference call muted so no one could ask questions or comment? Didn't want to hear it? Typical management move, bury your head in the sand or cover your ears so you can't see or hear anything.

Now you have FSEs walking out the door and you're dragging your feet to replace them. Guess what? This blog is being talked about in other companies so the word is already out. If you think that anyone could seriously consider working for you guys you should think again.

"The Stago analyzers are

"The Stago analyzers are still the BEST in Coag. I have worked on them and found the older ones are amazing. The older ones sometimes need a little more repair, but are just as accurate and precise as the new ones. That is why customers keep them forever."

You have obviously not evaluated another System side by side for a decade. If you did, you would see how poor the software is and that the STAGO results are no better than the other vendors- in fact the other vendors caught up and have surpassed Stago

It still uses a DOzs based

It still uses a DOzs based OS
Need I say more on how long it will be around?

The real problem is that

The real problem is that Stago treats their FSE's as a bunch of poly thumbed knuckle draggers with tool boxes. If you ask for help for a power problem you'll be graded on the amoumt of thermal grease on needle three. The report will be forwarded to everyone resposible for your review. You'll hear about it from the hotline and everyone else in house. Generally, FSE's are afraid to ask for help. Anything they say is used to denegrate them. FSE's are not leaving Stago for the money, they are leaving for the lack of respect.

In a bold move to bolster

In a bold move to bolster employee morale the management at Stago implemented drastic measures yesterday. After hours of meetings amoungst upper management members the plan has been put into place. The decision was made to offer movie tickets to those employees who go beyond the call of duty for their customers.

Yes, movie tickets.

After 3.5 years of abuse at the hands of a rouge ASG department the plan is to recognize pet employees with freaking movie tickets.

I suppose if this is successful then the next obvious step will be to offer lolly pops and bubble gum to the kids in the field at stago.

I think I'll put some more toast in the toaster....

Wow amazing It sounds like

Wow amazing It sounds like the roof is caving in around the place.

Stago you have to stop taking

Stago you have to stop taking the posts down. They will continue. Again it just shows how you treat your own people. You try to shut them up because they make you look bad. Guess what. Everybody already knows it. Are you afraid that France might find out what's really going on here?

Concerning the Satellite it is slow and when running the chromogenic tests its even slower yet. Why is it that those sites that went to a Satellite want their Compacts back?

Has anyone seen the

Has anyone seen the sattelite?I am not sure how it works, does it have a chromagenic channel?

Interesting to see that posts

Interesting to see that posts are disappearing from the blog. So Stago has someone constantly monitoring this. Can't stand the truth? Just bury it with all the other stuff and keep on going. Business as usual, if you don't hear about it it hasn't happened.

A mess indeed - If the FDA

A mess indeed - If the FDA ever looks into how STAGO organizes documents and procedures and the expired SOP's available to employees then STAGO will be pushing up daisies. What a mess.

A mess? I think that's

A mess? I think that's putting it nicely. This has been brewing for years and people are tired of being treated as 2nd class, or worse. Everyone is told if you need help call us. Ok but no-one in NJ answers their phones, returns calls or responds to emails. Then you have your head handed to you because you wern't proactive. Now there's a service director whose mantra is that T-Coag or ASG will help. He doesn't know the Lab business so he follows everyone else's lead down the garden path to the end. So as this blog started. Goodbye STAGO. Maybe the French can help bail you out but the place has to be disinfected first.

What a mess.

What a mess.

Yeah but before he says that

Yeah but before he says that he'll have one of his famous temper tantrums, all the Directors and CEO know about those. He'll huff and puff and turn red in the face, walk out and then spout forth his edict. Just remember, Marie A. "lost her head" for saying the same thing.

The only reason we have

The only reason we have stayed with Stago is because of my service engineer. If he leaves I'm done with Stago. We may leave anyway.

As far as the older Compacts

As far as the older Compacts are concerned, i would agree BUT the newer one don't have the "guts" to take the beating that the older ones could. With that said though, would you buy a 2000 model car at 2012 prices? I don't think so. The same applies here. Your paying a much higher price for something that hasn't changed in 10+ years. As earlier mentioned you won't be able to get parts. ie floppy drives, printers that are compatable. It's hard enough just to buy floppy disks to do back ups. There are now new LIS protocols in use in hospitals, guess what? Stago doesn't/can't interface with them. They need new product that is really new, not something bought from another company and to get their internal act together. The in house fighting is killing the company and its employees. The silos are still in place, some stronger than others.

The Stago analyzers are still

The Stago analyzers are still the BEST in Coag. I have worked on them and found the older ones are amazing. The older ones sometimes need a little more repair, but are just as accurate and precise as the new ones. That is why customers keep them forever.

T-Coag and all the cronies in

T-Coag and all the cronies in that bunch arn't much better. They're even part of the problem allowing the rantings of ASG to continue and to foster them as well. Its nothing but a lose lose situation. Time to rig the parachutes.

What have they done for the

What have they done for the last 12 years? Well the Compact went from white to off-white to rosewood. The Evolution also changed colors to match. All those colors to choose from.... And of course all the new software that had features that no one knew about or they couldn't fix when they were found. Not to mention the winter Sales meetings in Colorado or was that a Company ski trip for a few in the higher elevations of management?

"its like plac{ing} a band

"its like plac{ing} a band aid on a sucking chest wound."

Well "biomedbuddy" (WTF?)

Well "biomedbuddy" (WTF?) sure, dos is awesome, yet embarrassing in many ways. Limited encryption is one major drawback. Then we have the ability to interface. Oh yeah, trying to find a compatible printer with a parallel printer - good luck in a year or two. The QC package is crap and any clinical professional can vouch for this. It would be nice to back up to a USB, ain't happening with your lovely DOS, Buddy.

So they go with middleware that does not work and we call it the "Coag Connection". An attempt to create a work around implemented by the US Stago Department - A product which has been in the industry for along time. Yes, a product which was designed to make up for and bring antiquated soon to be obsolete systems into the 21st century and keep them feasible.

Stago, instead of developing a product which meets the market needs they slap a box on the back of a system - its like placed a band aid on a sucking chest wound.

What the hell have they been doing across the pond in the land of wine and cheese for the last 12 years?

Two things: the people and

Two things: the people and the product.

I worked on the STA Compact for 14 years as an FSE. My coworkers were professional and overall, top of the line. (My pay and benefits were better than many competitors. While lower management was supportive, upper management was overly ambitious. Generally, upper management was power-hungry and fought for control.

The STA Compact is one of the best units out there. Don't knock my DOS. They did THIS right. This unit has a live span of over 12 years.

We want affordable Healthcare, yet we want new units every five years.

Lets see if i get this

Lets see if i get this straight.
There's a director running amuck.
The CEO doesn't have a pair to allow this to happen.
An attempt to take over by a company they bought
Other directors without a pair not to file formal complaints against above or HR not willing to do anything about it.
No products, except relics from the past
No morale
Parent Company doesn't take control.

Sounds like a company that no one in their right mind would want to deal with

The US service operation is

The US service operation is nothing more than a puppet organization which operates under the close watch of the iron fist of an out of control director who knows virtually nothing about the service industry. He has no experience in the medical device industry other than what he has learned while employed at Stago. Although this individual has no experience in the industry he has been successful in running off every good Service director Stago has ever employed. He is a virtual political machine who surrounds himself with sycophants and insecure inexperienced people who he promotes and calls specialists, individuals who have no accountability and who cannot be challenged when wrong. If challenged the employee who calls BS on this poser self-proclaimed specialist sycophant "shall be dealt with" by this omnipowerfull omnipresent director. Heck even the CEO is scared of this director. Even the training centers are bugged so that the training department can spy of the employees. You would think that with all the problems with Stago's future raining in around this Company that people would have more important things to do.

Its a very strange place over there in stago land right now.

I doubt the French even know that the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Maybe DHR can buy them for the Coag line with BC.

Sounds like a perfect match. DHR isn't into R&D either!!

No real news here, Keros died

No real news here, Keros died in the back room of R&D. Couldn't fix the problems. The Satellite still uses DOS as an OS. That's really an enhancement. The new managemnet in the US only wants good numbers and they don't care where they come from. They should officially change the name to T-Coag cause that's who's runnin the place. Its so great that people are starting to jump ship while they can. France's priority is to build their new world headquarters and open new offices to sell 10 year old systems. That's a real vision. Maybe DHR can buy them for the Coag line with BC.

What happened to the Keros?

What happened to the Keros?

I agree - Why has Stago not

I agree - Why has Stago not developed a new analyzer. Huge blunder.

I agree - Not many customers

I agree - Not many customers will buy Stago for a third cycle. Nor do they want to be the guinea pig for this new product offered by T-Coag/Stago - T-Stago... ;)

IL has launched its vessel

IL has launched its vessel into the perfect storm. Wow!!!
