Siemens Australia must be good to work for!

Another engineer goes through the revolving door...

You don't have to read it,

You don't have to read it, and it is cheap counselling.

I guess more than half the

I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers.

No, just the ones that hang out on this site, bitching like schoolgirls.

Not fired - promoted.

Not fired - promoted.

"I guess more than half the

"I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers"

Which begs the question is the Siemens Australia management totally incompetent in that it keeps (often at enormous cost) employing 'losers' that leave? isn't doing that gross incompetence? presumably these (mis-)managers will be fired very soon?

I guess more than half the

I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers.

Example of Siemens management

Example of Siemens management speak:
To those that considered Siemens such a bad company to work for and left, but seem to spend so much time on this site bitching and moaning about a company they no longer work for, here's two words of advice - move on.
Anything else just suggests you're pathetic and no loss to the company.

"....but you could water your

"....but you could water your own.... ;)"

I share my green rain with Siemens gladly every day.

This thread could be for any

This thread could be for any other company. You could just replace the company name with the one I work for in the UK. And judging by the feeback I'm getting from Engineer mates in other companies it's the same there...

The boards are full of marketeers and city buisnessmen with no intention of preserving what made them good in the first place, the customer mission statements are bluster and hot air to woo the share holders and investors. They're full of (usually American) asset strippers. That move in, strip it out, take thier cake, eat it and move on.

It doesn't matter who you work for, everything but the badge on your shirt is the same, its a global cluster***k. Your skills make you the engineer and you control what you do. I can assure you all that the grass is no greener in anyone elses garden....but you could water your own.... ;)

Very true! Makes a change to see smeonoe spell it out like that. :)

Exactly my point... they do

Exactly my point... they do not deserve a sherrick of loyalty!! because if the club of "good old boys" want to get rid of YOU they will soon think or work out a way to do so... Just look at the previous service managers in victoria:- LR, DS, MW... Need I say more!

Apparently, my attempt to

Apparently, my attempt to temporarily re-locate to Australia as a Siemens engineer was not taken in the humourous spirit in which it was intended. Perhaps it is a language issue given that Americans and Australians are two people separated by a common language.

We are just showing some

We are just showing some engineer comradery (you know? like that loyalty type thing Siemens expects but doesn't earn?) anyway, any poor guy thinking of going off to Australia and living the dream with Siemens needs putting right early, because he's just heading a few thousand miles nearer hell!

Someone from the USA couldn't

Someone from the USA couldn't take the work load, wouldn't be much of a holiday - nothing but the inside of lab standing there looking into space in a clueless way.

Last two imports were from

Last two imports were from the UK, such a sucess - they now work for other companies.

I would love to work for

I would love to work for Siemens in Australia. Do they pay relocation costs from the States? You guys there sound like a real fun bunch and I just love the sarcasm and cynicism that you display here. The way I look at it is that Siemens would pay for me to go to Australia, I would work for them for 6-12 months, get to see much of your beautiful country, and then return back to the States. To me it's a win-win situation. I get a nice long vacation in Australia as a part time tourist and Siemens gets the kind of temporary-permanent employee that seems to be the standard there.

Hey, if Jonathan Swift can make a Modest Proposal, why can't I?

"who is proud of the people

"who is proud of the people that work in DX."

Judging by the huge turnover, your in a minority of one!

Giving everything away and

Giving everything away and not making any profit doesn't constitute getting your shit together.

To all the former DX staff

To all the former DX staff that left and a still bitter and twisted get on with with your life, for the rest of you that knock Siemens Dx its because your are scared we are getting our SH*T together and we are going to get you. Its been a few long years but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am not management at DX just one of the workers, who is proud of the people that work in DX.

they don't bother setting

they don't bother setting them up on email now.. just let them use siemens.engineer.temporary@siemens.au until they leave.

Revolving door soon to start

Revolving door soon to start turning again soon.

If there are any engineers

If there are any engineers who are reading this... do not make the mistake and work for SIEMENS DX, SIEMENS AS A COMPANY IS GREAT TO WORK FOR!!! But DX is and will always be the shit hole that it is today!!! they do not give a shit about any of there staff, it is and will always be the exclusive club of the ex-Bayer / Chiron group. The sooner SIEMENS get this the better for all!!!!

How do you define an

How do you define an engineer?

Speaking of engineers how

Speaking of engineers how many bone fide engineers are there in Australia

Ah, but this is why it is so

Ah, but this is why it is so important to look after the engineering "experience" and NURTURE it!!! Not just having lab people who think they are engineers -out there fixing instruments by throwing copious amounts of parts at the problem till somehow they fix it! AT the end of the day that is what you get when the company is run by sales!! Hardly any good techs left now, I feel for the good few that are left , from what I here the culture stinks to high heaven with no regard for their technical people! I would not and would never recommend working for DX Australia ever again! The revolving door will always keep revolving when morons are in charge!

either way, customer can't

either way, customer can't wait until late for a new bulb as Siemens engineer won't turn up until overtime starts. Buys bulb from Roche and realises that he has been kept in the dim light for years by Siemens.

How long does it take? Step 1

How long does it take?
Step 1 - have a meeting.
Step 2 - assign engineers
Step 3 - send out job to engineer
Step 4 - find they are not trained on light bulb replacement
Step 5 - find another engineer that is
Step 6 - first engineer looks at the light bulb and thinks it is an apps problem
Step 7 - customer gets pissed at the stuffing around and buys another companies light bulb (which they find is cheaper in the end)

Joke: how many Siemens

Joke: how many Siemens Australia engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?

Answer 3

1 to help the other two who are not properly trained.
1 to make the spare bulb from string.
1 to... oh he left.. just 2 then.

REALLY! not selling more

REALLY! not selling more Haematology equipment. Haem/Coag has always been the poor cousin. They were always an Immuno Chem company as far back as ADC. Just look at the fools running the Dx, mostly from Immuno apps background.

That may change now they have been forcefully integrated into Medical. There a few that should be nervous as hell IMO.

You forgot to mention

You forgot to mention molecular, and no longer selling heamatology, just supporting existing customer base... what a lovely mess!!
