Siemens Australia must be good to work for!

Flanders is collapsing . Is Collin M, the lead of BS with his Historian guy, and the director of systems engineering who never studied still talking for hours and hours without saying anything.

Any news on JT's replacement?

Any news on JT's replacement? I hear rumor's someone's coming back! Now that's desperation.... on both sides.

There is little in life that

There is little in life that is more worthless than trying to teach a LESSon to a MOR(E)on. [smirk]

Things may really be sucking in Australia, so let's at least have something to smile about once in a while.

Oh be quiet. Go and do some

Oh be quiet. Go and do some filing or push some papers around the desk or do whatever it is you do at GE.

Break even in 5 years maybe?

Break even in 5 years maybe?

As always the dynamic cycling

As always the dynamic cycling team have given everything away...from what I hear the situation at footscray and sunshine is a shambles!! Keep up the good work, there will be more contracts going Roche's way...

ONCE JT HAS GONE, THE SPARES

Making money on that Doro's deal chaps?

You are welcome - we only let

You are welcome - we only let those with any brains leave as they ask too many questions, KB

there is some good in all

there is some good in all this, it does provide some talent for the competition to take ie Roche, thanks chaps.

World wide.

World wide.

Just curious? Is this a

Just curious? Is this a nationwide problem or mainly in Victoria?

As a customer I agree that

As a customer I agree that the first time fix rate isn't as good as it could be but at least their new engineers are humble. some of the ones that left were so far up themselves. RC used to walk around our lab thinking he owned the place talking about how many bmws he has. Glad to see the back of that one.

you are absolutely right on

you are absolutely right on the money! it is incredible how management refuse to want to see it!! Hardly any good techs left there now! From what I hear the place is a right shambles!

If the wheat had left we

If the wheat had left we would've noticed. The only thing that has gone away is the first time fix rate and the companies reputation.

who are they gonna get to

who are they gonna get to replace the latest bad apple to leave? maybe a mechanic or a carpenter doesnt matter if they cannot fix anything theres always 2nd level support oh my bad I forgot they are only good at sucking

"the wheat left you

"the wheat left you drongo"

If the wheat had left we would've noticed. The only thing that has gone away is the whinging.

only thing left behind at

only thing left behind at Semens is a few bits of rusk that will get stuck in your teeth (to continue the cereal theme)

Most of this thread seems to

Most of this thread seems to deal with service issues and the service staff, or lack, thereof. How about sales? Is anything being sold in Australia? And who is buying what? I have to assume that there must be something on the revenue side.

A 60% turnover is what

A 60% turnover is what happens when you separate the wheat from the chaff - and most of the chaff has now departed.

Brilliant :- 60% staff

Brilliant :- 60% staff turnover in 3 years lot of bad apples in that bunch!

and another victorian one

and another victorian one gone

"What will the customers

"What will the customers think!"

Not much to worry about there then!

Tut, tut ... such

Tut, tut ... such unprofessional behaviour. What will the customers think!

Did you mean 'loser' or

Did you mean 'loser' or looser like the bolts on yer gear??? Obviously you also need a lesson in spelling aswell as some up to date training on how to tighten those loose fittings on the gear!!

Weird that no one who leaves

Weird that no one who leaves ever wants to come back? I wonder why?
Simple - the cyclists stuffed up big time - too much lycra and wind whistling through their ears.

YOU are absolutely right on

YOU are absolutely right on the money...They are unable to sell a thing without giving away service, reagents, etc.... DX Australia is without doubt the worst run company I have ever come across in my 30 years+ in the industry! We have had instruments in a our lab that have been down for weeks at a time, the turn-over of engineering staff is ALARMING! The experience level of engineers is atrocious to say the least...we constantly see engineers on the phone not knowing what they are doing, working on equipment that they clearly have never seen or dont even know!!! You can see the stress on their faces when they walk into the lab! The odd good one comes in and knows what the problem is almost immediately.. By that stage we have had a machine down for almost 2 weeks!! I recently had my advia and immulite down for 2 weeks... nobody seems to know what the problem is.. I have never seen anything like it!

Weird that no one who leaves

Weird that no one who leaves ever wants to come back? I wonder why?

Unable to deliver as well..

Unable to deliver as well..

DX would lose money if it

DX would lose money if it invented a $20 Teleportation machine. By the time sales finished planning their latest restructure and go to market implementation plan the human race would have become extinct.

Before then the overheads of all the product managers, marketing managers, application support, customer educators, business support, contracts executives etc. who would outnumber the potential customers would price it off the planet.

If it made it to the customers by a miracle it would be a one way trip because the engineer who was trained on the cheap on a half day course wouldn't know where to find the reset button.

Correct, you don't SELL

Correct, you don't SELL anything! you give it away... with free 24hr service and then reward the sales team for doing it at ZERO actual profit.

Not to worry, we dont sell

Not to worry, we dont sell anything anyway.

Oops there goes a sales

Oops there goes a sales person.

you are a real looser posting

you are a real looser posting on the weekend, get a life!!!

BTW yes we are happy

Working hard, reading the mill on Siemens time.

Nobody has left recently,

Nobody has left recently, does that mean you are all happy?

You don't have to read it,

You don't have to read it, and it is cheap counselling.

I guess more than half the

I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers.

No, just the ones that hang out on this site, bitching like schoolgirls.

Not fired - promoted.

Not fired - promoted.

"I guess more than half the

"I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers"

Which begs the question is the Siemens Australia management totally incompetent in that it keeps (often at enormous cost) employing 'losers' that leave? isn't doing that gross incompetence? presumably these (mis-)managers will be fired very soon?

I guess more than half the

I guess more than half the engineers there over the last 3 years were pathetic losers.

Example of Siemens management

Example of Siemens management speak:
To those that considered Siemens such a bad company to work for and left, but seem to spend so much time on this site bitching and moaning about a company they no longer work for, here's two words of advice - move on.
Anything else just suggests you're pathetic and no loss to the company.

"....but you could water your

"....but you could water your own.... ;)"

I share my green rain with Siemens gladly every day.

This thread could be for any

This thread could be for any other company. You could just replace the company name with the one I work for in the UK. And judging by the feeback I'm getting from Engineer mates in other companies it's the same there...

The boards are full of marketeers and city buisnessmen with no intention of preserving what made them good in the first place, the customer mission statements are bluster and hot air to woo the share holders and investors. They're full of (usually American) asset strippers. That move in, strip it out, take thier cake, eat it and move on.

It doesn't matter who you work for, everything but the badge on your shirt is the same, its a global cluster***k. Your skills make you the engineer and you control what you do. I can assure you all that the grass is no greener in anyone elses garden....but you could water your own.... ;)

Very true! Makes a change to

Very true! Makes a change to see smeonoe spell it out like that. :)

Exactly my point... they do

Exactly my point... they do not deserve a sherrick of loyalty!! because if the club of "good old boys" want to get rid of YOU they will soon think or work out a way to do so... Just look at the previous service managers in victoria:- LR, DS, MW... Need I say more!

Apparently, my attempt to

Apparently, my attempt to temporarily re-locate to Australia as a Siemens engineer was not taken in the humourous spirit in which it was intended. Perhaps it is a language issue given that Americans and Australians are two people separated by a common language.

We are just showing some

We are just showing some engineer comradery (you know? like that loyalty type thing Siemens expects but doesn't earn?) anyway, any poor guy thinking of going off to Australia and living the dream with Siemens needs putting right early, because he's just heading a few thousand miles nearer hell!
