I wish I was an engineer at Siemens, they apparently get paid a fortune and often I see them come into the lab, open the covers on a system and disappear for a an hour or two, then reappear as the clock approaches 5pm. They get paid $$$$ after 5 to work. What life.

Makes sense, at the end of the day we do have the best sales boys in the business, No? The only problem is the customers have forgotten what they look like!

You simply don't understand the Siemens mentality. By allowing existing systems in the field to be replaced with competitive systems Siemens has figured out a way to relieve the pressure on their field service personnel. Why is that so hard to figure out or understand?

You "MEANS TO SAY" that lets fire those sales boys that are doing such a great job at selling... what have we sold in the last 12 months guys???? You have been shown the door on about every major deal in the region....but lets not discuss that...

"whats wrong with going to site and not knowing what you are doing ??"
That's been SOP for years!. That's why people like JT are tolerated. They'll take a hammer to anything and have a go... with disastrous results of course.. ceramic valve anyone?

Seems to succeed you need to be incompetent - SA is a prime example, couldn't fix an instrument in a fit, waited untill 4:30 to go out on a job, then claimed OT...what to do? Promote him!
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 13/09/2011 - 04:07.
One wonders why the turn over is so high, they watch guys who find it impossible to start a jobs before 14:00 to ensure they maximize OT and for the rest of the day they... well lets just say being seen at Safeway and Bunnings aint all business related is it?
And these same guys are rewarded for being seniors, being the ones with the experience, lets not even consider work ethic shall we? what up with that? Chaos! just Chaos!

yeah cut back on "unimportant" stuff like training so that we can employ more important managers, consultants and bean counters to see where we are going wrong........remember this years goal the customer is priority number 1, well who would have thought that! great idea consultant heres your commission now lets cut more training to pay for it and so the circus rolls on.

This is true of all Siemens training - most courses cut in half or worse (not just OZ all over) I regularly work on stuff I have been 'trained' on and take a panel off and think 'what the hell is that then?' when I see whats inside. Real expert eh?
Management seem to think they can impress their managers by seeing who can do the smallest pee in the training pot. The engineer has got a laptop with a few pdf's on, or he can call an expert (stop it, your killing me lol) or even as I have to do, ask the customer if he has any suggestions...!!!

On behalf of Roche (and others) we wish to thanks Siemens for its investment in developing and relocating our future employees when (invariably) you pee them off into leaving. Makes meeting our targets easier, by the way, we may need some more POC trained people later in the year so if you could focus your training on that? cheers.

I am STILL laughing at the time Randy went there and came back and made a videocast feature about how the Australian operation was an example of how to get the work life balance right.
How could someone get so high up and be so totally WRONG?
Or perhaps he meant from Siemens point of view the work/life balance was right - all work, no life?
Siemens Australia DX is being promoted worldwide as a flagship pioneer for the program to merge DX into Healthcare - the phrase sweeping the whole mess under the rug comes to mind.
