Affy got suckered into a very bad deal. They paid 2x too much for this acquisition of a commodity company. They might as well be selling children's aspirin. They blew their chance to get some real technology for the future. This was just plain stupid.

Core Affy business grew only 1% and eBio only 5%. ILMN beat Wall Street estimates with "strong array sales." Affy is completely irrelevant. This is history folks, we get to watch a "market-making" company crash and, very shortly, burn to death before our eyes! Bravo SF, bravo!!!

The eBio acquisition was very smart. This quarter eBio should see double digit growth relative to last Q4 and combining their technology with Panomics will produce innovative genomic solutions. You will see!

Illumina recently purchased BlueGnome for one fourth the cost of Affy's acquisition of eBio. BlueGnome makes much greater sense to compliment Affy's portfolio than eBio. Frank should be embarrassed for throwing away over $300 million for an antibody company. Seems Affy likes helping Illumina with their poor acquisitions.
